Serving the people of Overseal

Community Orchard

The village community orchard celebrates our connection to where we live and is the home of Overseal Wassail.

The community project in Overseal has received a prestigious Community Green Flag Award for 2020/21, which prestigious award given by the environment charity, Keep Britain Tidy recognises quality parks and green spaces.

The award also recognises the work of local volunteers to maintain the area, which was planted with 31 trees and public footpaths introduced across the site were surfaced to encourage access all around the year.

The project was funded by Overseal Parish Council, South Derbyshire District Council and the National Forest with trees in the orchard planted in 2014 and 2015 to commemorate those who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars.
